In 2005, Michael Melching opened the doors on his first liquor and convenience store, Pronto Stop. As his business grew, so did the requests from his customers for a place to cash their payroll checks. Michael seized the opportunity and, not one to do things half-way, he brought in one of the most technologically advanced check cashing systems in the Kansas City metro. This new system stored the photo ID and fingerprints of his clients, making it a simple matter to look up customers and cash their checks.

In 2008, Michael sold the liquor store to Mayur Patel. Knowing that there were many other ways to serve the community’s check cashing needs, Michael and Mayur launched Pronto Cash. With Pronto Cash, the men were able to reach a broader client base by creating the first mobile check cashing business in the area. Having an armored van allows Michael and Mayur to bring many different types of banking services wherever they are needed. These services include check cashing, money orders, MoneyGram, payday loans and ATM services. By bringing these services to the workplace, employers have seen a dramatic drop in absenteeism and tardiness on pay day.

In 2009, Michael and Mayur expanded their business by becoming Authorized Cricket dealers in East Independence, MO. Being in the Susquahanna area allows them to serve the wireless and check cashing needs of this thriving community. With this addition to their business, they are now able to offer all Cricket services from the mobile van as well.

The Pronto Cash mobile van has an ATM built into the side of the van and can be made available at any event or corporate gathering.
